Many Australian schools in Kindergarten have less focus on play based-learning and have taken a more formal approach due to the amount of content they need to cover. Learning their sounds is such a fundamental aspect when decoding words and often students at the start of school struggle with the formal approach of learning and retaining the information. We came up with the idea of Funky Phonics as a way of bridging that gap.

 

Children at a young age should learn through play and we believe our approach to teaching phonics will really benefit your child as they will not only learn the main letter sounds and diagraphs (sh, ch, th etc), they will develop listening skills, hear and match sounds, as well as developing fine and gross motor skills through our different interactive activities.
